NewsThe MINT Team Says Goodbye to New York and Toronto

For seven days, from May 29th to June 7th, 2026, a team of ten MINT creators and editors participated in several events across New York and Toronto. From book signings to panel talks, the creators were able to make meaningful connections with fans and publishers alike, all while showcasing the diversity that is Japanese manga.

Through the events at the Society of Illustrators in New York, the “Alternative Manga Showcase” at the Japan Foundation, Toronto, or the various panels and events at TCAF, creators were able meet the publishers driving the manga industry abroad and study the latest trends happening there. Additionally, they also had a chance to visit some of the city’s best art galleries and become inspired by the art showcased inside.

The MINT Project hopes to foster the connections made on this trip so that it can continue their mission of increasing awareness for a wide range of manga titles abroad.
